We support Fraser Coast’s traditions at the Teebar Campdraft

Through the Fraser Coast Hybrid Project, we have contributed AUD 12,000 to support the Teebar Campdraft, one of the most important annual events in the region.

A hallmark of Australia’s agricultural heritage, this event brings together families, local businesses, volunteers, and competitors to celebrate rural traditions and community spirit. At the heart of the event is Campdrafting, a uniquely Australian sport that showcases skill, teamwork, and trust between horse and rider as they guide cattle through a challenging course.

Through the Teebar Show and Sports Association, a dedicated team of volunteers works tirelessly to keep alive a tradition that combines horsemanship, cattle-handling skills, and the strong sense of community that defines rural Australia.

“GPG Australia is proud to support the Teebar Campdraft as part of its commitment to creating positive and lasting benefits for local communities. Through partnerships with community organisations and events, we aim to ensure the benefits of renewable energy development are shared locally. We are pleased to contribute to an event that brings people together, celebrates rural heritage and strengthens community connections across the Fraser Coast region.”.

The Fraser Coast Hybrid Project, located approximately 50 kilometres south-west of Maryborough, will combine large-scale solar generation with battery energy storage to deliver reliable, clean energy to the National Electricity Market. By integrating solar power with battery storage, the project will capture renewable energy generated during the day and make it available when electricity demand is highest, helping to strengthen Queensland’s electricity network.

Beyond developing renewable energy infrastructure, the Fraser Coast Hybrid Project is focused on supporting local employment, engaging regional suppliers, and investing in community initiatives that deliver lasting and sustainable social benefits across the region.
