As part of the ongoing planning and consultation process for the Tarrone Battery Energy Storage System (Tarrone BESS), GPG Australia (GPGA) met with local Country Fire Authority (CFA) representatives in May
The consultation was carried out to adress matters relanted to emergency preparedness, risk management and project planning.
The consultation brought together representatives from CFA District 5 South East Catchment, the Hawkesdale CFA Group, the Macarthur CFA Group, the Willatook CFA Brigade, and the Moyne Shire Council Emergency Management.
The meeting provided an opportunity to present an overview of the proposed Tarrone BESS project, discuss the battery energy storage technology being considered, and seek early input from emergency management stakeholders to help inform the project’s design and emergency response planning.
In particular, we value the opportunity to collaborate with local CFA members at an early stage of the project and acknowledge the valuable local knowledge and expertise shared by participants.

Ongoing consultation throughout the planning and operational phases of the project.
GPGA welcomed the opportunity to engage with local CFA members at an early stage of the project and acknowledged the valuable local knowledge and expertise provided by attendees.
The consultation forms part of GPGA’s commitment to working collaboratively with emergency management agencies and ensuring that emergency planning and risk mitigation measures are developed in accordance with industry best practice and regulatory requirements.
Engagement with the CFA, Moyne Shire Council and other emergency management agencies will continue as the Tarrone Battery project progresses through planning, design and, if approved, construction and operation.
