The Fraser Coast Hybrid Project team welcomed local residents to a successful Community Information Day at Maryborough Town Hall, providing an opportunity for the community to learn more about the project, meet the team behind its delivery, and ask questions about its construction.
Hosted by GPG Australia, the event brought together representatives from the project team and

principal construction contractors, who were available throughout the day to discuss the project’s construction approach, timeline, and anticipated benefits for the region. The event attracted local interest and provided a valuable forum for open discussion and community feedback.
Community members had the opportunity to explore information displays, speak directly with technical specialists, and gain a better understanding of how the project will be delivered. Topics discussed included the project’s hybrid renewable energy design, environmental management, construction activities, local employment opportunities, and ongoing community engagement.

The Fraser Coast Hybrid Project is located approximately 50 kilometres south-west of Maryborough and will combine large-scale solar generation with battery energy storage to deliver reliable, clean energy to the National Electricity Market. By integrating solar generation with battery storage, the project will capture renewable energy produced during the day and store it for use when electricity demand is highest, improving the reliability and flexibility of Queensland’s electricity network.

As the project progresses, GPG Australia will continue to provide opportunities for residents, landholders, businesses, and stakeholders to stay informed and provide feedback throughout the delivery of the project.
Local stakeholders will also receive regular project information through newsletters and construction updates, ensuring the community is kept informed of project progress, key milestones, upcoming works, and any expected construction impacts.
