Berrybank Wind Farm is proud to announce a new five-year partnership with Rural Aid, providing long-term support to farming families and regional communities across western Victoria through mental health services, disaster assistance and community recovery initiatives.
The partnership will deliver direct support to communities within the region of the Berrybank Wind Farm, recognising both the local community surrounding the wind farm and the broader regional communities to the project.
As part of the partnership, GPG Berrybank Wind Farm will fund a dedicated part-time Rural Aid counsellor to provide accessible mental health support for people living in regional and rural areas. The partnership will also strengthen Rural Aid’s capacity to respond to natural disasters and community emergencies through the delivery of fodder, water and emergency relief to farming families when they need it most.
Rural communities face increasing challenges from drought, floods, bushfires and other natural disasters, alongside the ongoing pressures of farming and regional life. Access to timely mental health support and practical assistance plays a critical role in helping individuals, families and communities recover and build resilience.
Jamie Bronca GPG (Global Power Generation) Community Engagement Officer for the Berrybank Wind Farm said the partnership reflects the Berrybank Wind Farm’s commitment to supporting the wellbeing of the communities in which it operates.
“At GPG, we recognise that supporting regional communities goes beyond delivering renewable energy. Through this partnership with Rural Aid, we are investing in services that make a real difference to the lives of farming families, providing practical assistance during difficult times while helping improve access to mental health support across the region” – explained Jamie Bronca
The five-year partnership demonstrates a shared commitment to building stronger, more resilient rural communities through long-term investment in community wellbeing and disaster preparedness.
By partnering with Rural Aid, the Berrybank Wind Farm is helping ensure regional communities have access to the support they need to navigate challenging times while contributing to healthier, more resilient communities across western Victoria.
